‘Deal Or No Deal’ Player Confused When He Says ‘Look!’ Jaw Drops When She Sees Who’s Holding Case

Sometimes we can miss the most obvious things, even when they are right under our noses! That’s what happened to Lauren Potter when she competed on NBC’s “Deal or No Deal.”

The premise of the show is that a contestant must choose from 26 sealed briefcases which each contain a dollar amount ranging from one penny to $1 million. The player then has to eliminate the remaining briefcases one by one. As they do so, a Banker tempts them to accept a cash offer in exchange for not continuing the game and possibly winning a larger sum of money.

Lauren, a 25-year-old waitress from New York, was full of jitters as she narrowed the briefcases down one by one. Finally, only six were left.

Little did she know, though, that the show’s host, Howie Mandel, had prepared a little surprise for her.

As Lauren tried to make her decision, Howie began to drop hints about the surprise that was literally staring her right in the face. But Lauren was so overcome by nerves and excitement that she didn’t get any of the hints!

The audience, who was in on the surprise, laughed as Lauren tried to figure out what Howie was hinting at.

All of a sudden, it suddenly clicked and Lauren’s jaw dropped in shock and surprise!

The show had flown in Lauren’s sister, Maria, whom she hadn’t seen in a very long time!

Between the lights, noise, and nerves, Lauren didn’t recognize Maria as she stood by the briefcase; but once everything finally clicked and Lauren realized what was happening, she rushed over to wrap her sister in a tight embrace.

“This is the hardest reunion we have ever done here on ‘Deal or No Deal,’” Howie joked in exasperation.

That night, Lauren ended up taking the Banker’s offer of $44,000, even though she could have potentially walked away with $200,000. She says she has no regrets about taking the deal.

“I have more money than I had a week ago. So there’s nothing to complain about,” she said.

Even better, she got a much-needed reunion with her sister. You can’t put a price on that!

Were you shocked by how long it took Lauren and her mom to recognize Maria? Then share it!
